Jill C. Battersby, M.S., opened Autism Achievement Unlimited, Inc. to provide custom teaching programs for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. Jill is a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst who has been setting up effective teaching programs for individuals with ASD since March of 2000. Specific teaching strategies used are based upon the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and include Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT), Pivotal Response Training (PRT), Errorless Learning, Natural Environment Teaching (NET), Shaping, and Chaining. All teaching programs include planning for Generalization and Maintenance of skills.

The focus of services is the development of functional skills in all domains:

·         Communication,

·         Speech and Language,

·         Learning Readiness,

·         Cognition,

·         Self-Care,

·         Socialization and Play,

·         Pre-Academics,

·         Academics,

·         Vocational Skills,

·       Activities of Daily Living, and

·         Recreation and Leisure.

In most cases, the Eden Institute Curriculum Series (Eden Autism Services, Princeton, NJ) is used as the basis of teaching, although other individualized programs may be developed as needed.

It is the belief of Autism Achievement Unlimited that all individuals with ASD can learn and will learn best when an individualized teaching program is developed to account for their unique learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, or a combination of these) and language and sensory processing issues.

Our mission is to teach those who work with individuals with ASD and other developmental disabilities effective techniques and problem-solving skills so they may apply scientifically proven strategies in a variety of different situations. This may include parents, teachers, tutors, home-care providers, and/or other interested parties. The ultimate goal of services is to promote maximum independence and life satisfaction of all students served.
